Summary, etc.	Esta decimocuarta edición expone los conceptos básicos y material práctico en cada una de las áreas fundamentales para la topografía moderna (geomática). Está dirigido principalmente a los estudiantes que inician sus estudios en esta área de la Ingeniería civil a nivel universitario. Con el objetivo de brindar una presentación actualizada del equipo topográfico y sus procedimientos, se destaca el uso tanto de los instrumentos de estación total como de los empleados al hacer cálculos de ángulos y distancias; incluye una sección sobre cómo planear un levantamiento de escaneo láser con base en la tierra y se introduce el formato LandXML para el intercambio de archivos de mapeo. Hace énfasis en la teoría de errores en el trabajo de levantamientos, por lo que al final de cada capítulo se enlistan tanto las equivocaciones como los errores más comunes para que actúe con cautela durante todo el proceso del trabajo topográfico.
