| Summary, etc. | Este libro pretende dar una visión unificada del proceso a través del cual se realiza el proyecto estructural de las construcciones de la ingeniería civil. En lugar de recopilar normas, reglas, y procedimientos de diseño, el énfasis se pone en el planteamiento de los objetivos de diseño y en la fundamentación de los procedimientos. Se destacan las incertidumbres implícitas en las distintas fases del proceso y la forma en que éstas deben reflejarse en los factores de seguridad que se adoptan. Se abordan detalladamente las cargas y acciones que se generan por el propio funcionamientos de la construcción o por fenómenos naturales y la forma de tener en cuenta sus efectos en las estructuras; el modo en que las propiedades de los materiales y la forma de las estructuras influyen en el comportamiento de las mismas; no se incluyen procedimientos de diseño de materiales particulares como concreto, acero o madera, de las que se considera deben formar parte de textos específicos. |
