| Summary, etc. | Los dos volúmenes de este libro reúnen material informativo acerca de los cultivos tropicales y subtropicales y las materias afines, en forma breve, completa y comprensiva.<br/>En la primera parte se analizan el clima, fisiografía, formación del suelo, propiedades químicas y físicas de éste, su materia orgánica, fertilidad y manejo así como prácticas de cultivo; también se hacen consideraciones básicas sobre los productos tropicales y su valor.<br/>En la segunda parte se estudia cada especie de acuerdo con el siguiente patrón: información general, incluyendo la producción mundial, su botánica, variedades, mejoramiento y selección, necesidades climáticas y de suelo, su cultivo, cosecha, beneficio y usos; plagas, enfermedades, etc. Al final de cada capitulo se proporciona una lista de referencias, para que el lector pueda profundizarse en los tópicos que más le interesen. |
