Con el fin de conseguir un desarrollo rural integrador de sus múltiples actividades, se resalta en este libro la necesidad y se detallan los pasos obligados para aproximarse a una agricultura realmente sostenible. Utilizando como base científica los principios agro- ecológicos, se expone un “estado del arte y la práctica” de lo más relevante a nivel mundial sobre evaluación de suelos. Sin representar un manual de clasificación práctica de suelos, constituye un cuerpo interdisciplinar de conocimientos, en la frontera entre la Edafología y la Agronomía, y con incursiones continuas en el campo de las nuevas Tecnologías de la Información. En el desarrollo de este complejo proceso de análisis y síntesis, donde la modelización computacional del sistema suelo-uso-degradación alcanza un papel protagonista, se discuten avanzados procedimientos para pronosticar los diferentes indicadores de potencialidad y vulnerabilidad que determinan la calidad del suelo. |
