| Summary, etc. | La tesis principal de este libro es demostrar que en los últimos 70 años, el país ha vivido una gran revolución de la cultura protagonizada por millones de provincianos del Otro Perú quienes al trasladarse a Lima originaron el mayor cambio estructural contemporáneo. El análisis de la historia corta del proceso peruano, 1940-2010, revela que la migración provinciana de más de ocho millones de habitantes, a Lima y principales ciudades de la costa, y la urbanización basada en barriadas, desarrolladas en el contexto de un proceso de descentralización interna y globalización mundial, contribuyó a forjar la sociedad nacional que no existía en el país. Lo original de este proceso radica en que no se produce de manera violenta y que se plasma en el surgimiento de tres grandes nuevas Lima, que no solo conviven sino que superan a la Lima tradicional y en donde también está presente la impronta del mundo andino. Igualmente, el autor sostiene que el desborde popular se ha convertido en un modelo de relación de las bases con el poder político y que, por ello, en el Perú de hoy puede hablarse de un Estado permanentemente desbordado. |
