Como muchas de las historias regionales revisadas aquí, este estudio se basa en gran medida en un formato geográfico y cultural. Los patrones de población, respaldados por estadísticas muy útiles, se discuten en profundidad. Sin embargo, casi carece de una historia política sustantiva y, por lo tanto, apenas discute gran parte del malestar político de finales de los años cincuenta y sesenta.
