El Perú sigue siendo un país con altos índices de pobreza y de desigualdad educativa que afecta a los sectores más vulnerables: los pueblos indígenas andinos y amazónicos, quienes son los que sufren el mayor nivel de exclusión de una educación de calidad en comparación con la población no indígena. Así lo evidencia el estudio Niñez indígena y Educación Intercultural Bilingüe: Estadísticas recientes, preguntas (i) resueltas y tareas pendientes, realizado en octubre del 2008 por Enrique Vásquez, Annie Chumpitaz y César Jara por encargo de CARE Perú, EDUCA, Save the Children, TAREA, UNICEF, y las instituciones del Grupo Impulsor de la Educación en Áreas Rurales. Esta publicación, que interpela y convoca a todos a la acción, cuenta con los valiosos aportes de Luis Enrique López, sociolingüista especializado en Eib indígena, quien comenta los hallazgos de este estudio y propone recomendaciones, orientadas a conseguir transformaciones que aseguren el derecho de la niñez indígena a una educación socialmente relevante, y con pertinencia cultural y lingüística.<br/> |
