| Summary, etc. | Se determina el costo de oportunidad de los usos consuntivos y no consuntivos del agua superficial para uso agrícola en el valle de Mala, se aplicaron encuestas a los agricultores, se identificó la curva de demanda y el excedente del consumidor para los usos doméstico, explotación de camarones y recreación. Entre los hallazgos, el 70% de agricultores considera que el problema principal es la deficiente cantidad de agua, por ese motivo, se implementan las "mitas". La superficie agrícola está mayormente dedicada al cultivo del manzano que demanda 9,500 m3 por cosecha de 8 meses. Este cultivo tiene una relación directa con su precio y una relación inversa a la cantidad consumida de agua, existiendo un uso ineficiente. El agua en un huerto de manzana, con tecnología intermedia, tiene un valor, costo del consumo y tarifa de 0.18, 0.10 y 0.02 US$/m3; respectivamente. Calculando los costos de oportunidad, en el uso consuntivo, el agrícola es de US$ 0018/m3 y el doméstico es de US$ 0.032/m3; mientras que en el uso no-consuntivo, la explotación de camarones es de US$ 0.017/m3 y la recreación de US$ 0.016/m3. Llegando a identificar que el uso doméstico es el de mayor valor.<br/><br/> |
