Posteriormente, trata los principales elementos que es necesario enfatizar para la formación de ingenieros capaces de enfrentar con éxito los retos que la realidad les plantea, así como los temas que es necesario tomar en cuenta en el ejercicio profesional de la ingeniería. Allí destaca la importancia del cuidado puesto en el diseño de la obra y el valor de las fallas como elementos a partir de los cuales se hace posible cuestionar conceptos y prácticas cuyo valor era incuestionable, para superarlos. Finalmente, se detiene en el valor de la ética, en tanto guía indispensable para todo profesional de la ingeniería.
