| Summary, etc. | El libro examina el dinámico desarrollo de las micro finanzas en el Perú en los años noventa y los requerimientos de una política de regulación y promoción de estas actividades. De esta forma, se analizan las distinta experiencias en el microcredito de los bancos comerciales y de consumo, de las cajas municipales de ahorro y crédito (CMACs), de las cajas rurales, de las EDPYMES y de MIBANCO. Destacan los logros en cobertura y sostenibilidad de las CMACs. De ahí que se explore mas detalladamente a estos intermediarios en sus características institucionales, experiencias en captación de depósitos y planificación estratégica, así como en un estudio de caso sobre la forma como se enfrentaron las consecuencias del fenómeno del niño en 1998. Las lecciones derivadas de la experiencia de las CMACs pueden ser muy relevantes para el desarrollo de los demás intermediarios interesados en el crédito a la micro empresa y en la ampliación de la frontera del sistema financiero, tarea de gran importancia tomando en cuenta la notable gravitación del sector informal en el Perú. |
